Posted on September 18, 2011 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

Have you ever gotton lost and start to panic?

This being lost may be physically where you don't know how to get home again, or it may be lost in your life, feeling unsure of where to go to next, or how to move forward.

The natural tendency when this happens is to run faster, circle around, get flustered as you try and find your way.

Not only are you physically racing around but your mind is also racing along at a mile a minute.

Everything speeds up in a panic to try and get you to back to something familiar.

What can you do when this happens?

STOP, BREATHE, and REGROUP

I am sure you can relate to being stuck. You know those days when you need to do something or try something but your motivation, energy and ability to do anything seems to be stuck in mud.

The Truth about Stress and Overwhelm

Posted on March 28, 2011 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

This last week I hit a wall. I looked at my list of things to do and realized that about 90% of them were about 90% done.

Nothing had been fully completed.

This scattered energy was costing me not only valuable time but also my self esteem.

AND I did not recognize it immediately.

Many of us approach the New Year with Resolutions that are aimed at having us live our best life. We resolve to do things differently and embark on setting up Resolutions to put us back on the road to a healthier way of being.

Unfortunately the statistics show that 90% of us are not good at keeping our resolutions. Why is this? What can we do about it?

How do you feel when you break an agreement with yourself? I know when I break my commitments to myself, I lose trust in me.

Over the past couple of weeks I made some observations about new years’ resolutions PAST to determine what got in the way of accomplishing them and what I could have done differently.

Day 8 - Easier Said than Done

Posted on February 11, 2010 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

Have you ever had one of those days that life is great, you are in your groove, you are on top of the world then all of a sudden you are racing around like a chicken with its head cut off?

Well that describes me during the last two days.

As I began work on Day 6 I was quite encouraged about how grounded I was and how well I was doing with "Living in the Moment".  I meditated for 20 minutes and felt amazing. I worked with two great coaching clients in the morning.  We did some PSYCH-K and shifting of subconscious beliefs, visualizations and goal setting, and released some emotional blocks.  I was in the flow, living in the moment, breathing, connecting with my inner self then bham!!  Things changed.

Day 5 - Back to the Real World

Posted on February 8, 2010 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

Getting back to the real world after being on vacation can be a rude awakening.  As I travelled back from Maui with it's sun, sand and surf, I felt an incredible sense of gratitude for all that I have in my life.  Living in the moment was easy to do as I took in my last day of Paradise with my family.  I did not keep notes for my blog as I decided to let let days 3 and 4 go unrecorded.  As a brief summary, they were amazing.  We had a beautiful last day, travelled the island to take in some different sites on our way to the airport.

Flying all night to get back home was a little exhausting and when I walked into the house and saw the stack of mail and emails I needed to deal with I felt a little overwhelmed.  However, I set up a plan and a strategy for how I wanted this week to go.  I feel ready to get back to the real world.

Living in the Moment is more challenging to do in the real

School Zones and Life - 7 Steps to Help You Slow Down

Posted on November 18, 2009 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

Have you ever noticed how much more you see when you slow down for a School zone?

When ever I follow the rules and slow right down, I am amazed at how much more I see.

I notice the children playing in the school yard. I notice the maroon painted front door, I notice the beautiful blue sky and I notice the beauty around me. I become conscious of my surroundings and appreciate what is going on around me.

This is definitely a different feeling from the racing tension I get when I spend my time thinking about what is next on my list or worrying about everything I need to do.
When we spend our time racing to get to where we need to get to next, focusing on the destination rather than the journey, it is amazing how much we miss along the way.

Are You Living the Life You Want

Posted on August 21, 2009 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

What does your ideal life look like?  If you were to carry on living your life like you are today, will you feel fulfilled and satisfied in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years?  What is getting in the way of you living the life you want?  What is your relationship like with yourself?  These are some of the questions that I ask my clients when they come in and see me. Many people feel dissatisfied with their life as they know it, yet feel powerless at changing it.

The exercise of looking at how you are currently living your life and how disconnected you are from what you want can be quite eye opening.

Tuning into your body!!

Posted on August 13, 2009 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

Our body is the most amazing vehicle we have to tune into the present moment.   Our body is with us at all times,  yet many of us do not spend any time in relationship with our bodies.

How does our body speak to us?  We feel sensations of hunger, thirst, tiredness, etc. We feel emotions of anger, sadness, frustration and joy.  We have voices that speak to us telling us what we should and should not do and we have our inner voice that tries to be heard.

What Legacy Will You Leave?

Posted on June 5, 2009 12:00:00am, by Gerrianne Clare

This past weekend, we attended the funeral for a colleague and friend of my husband.  I had met him a couple of times over the years and I knew his wife casually.  It was a sad day.  He left behind a wife and two young children as well as a whole community of family and friends.  As I sat in the church listening to the words spoken about this man, I was reminded of Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” when he suggests “we begin with the end in mind”.  What legacy do you want to leave behind? This man had lived life fully, he played hard, worked hard and loved his family deeply which was evident in all of the tributes paid to him in that full church. I imagine he would be pleased with how he was remembered.
