3 ways to Slow down and Find Your Way

Have you ever gotton lost and start to panic?
This being lost may be physically where you don't know how to get home again, or it may be lost in your life, feeling unsure of where to go to next, or how to move forward.
The natural tendency when this happens is to run faster, circle around, get flustered as you try and find your way.
Not only are you physically racing around but your mind is also racing along at a mile a minute.
Everything speeds up in a panic to try and get you to back to something familiar.
What can you do when this happens?
STOP, BREATHE, and REGROUP
STOP - when you are panicking it seems counter intuitive to stop but that is just what you need to do. When you are anxious or panicking, you are not thinking clearly. Take a minute to just STOP
BREATHE - when you stop, it feels awkward so give yourself something to do -
BREATHE - deeply and intentionally into the middle of your chest.
Breathe in deeply through your nose for the count of 5
Pause at the top
Blow out gently for the count of 5
Be with the sensations in your body
If you can, repeat this up to 3 times to quiet your mind chatter and gain some perspective
REGROUP - To regroup means to look at the situation from a different perspective. This may be as simple as asking yourself a few questions? These can include:
What are the facts?
What are my thoughts?
What are my fears?
What do I want?
Taking a few moments to stop, breathe and regroup can offer you a whole new way of looking at what is worrying you and help you find a new way.
Take care and let me know your thoughts
Much love,
Gerrianne
